Cold does not arrive from the front. It gets in across neck and lower back — which is exactly where the nine heating panels sit.
- Neck and both shoulder blades
- Upper back, lower back, kidney area
- Left and right chest
- All nine sit on one circuit — never a warm back with a cold chest
- Three levels: 8 hours on low, 4 on medium, 2 at full power
Measured with the included power bank at 23 °F (−5 °C), worn under a softshell jacket. Colder weather shortens them accordingly.
Heating system
- Heating fibres, 9 zones, one central heating circuit
- Warm within seconds — no preheating
- One button on the chest, large enough to find with gloves on

- Run time per level: 8, 4 and 2 hours

- Polyester inside and out, water-repellent
- Full-length zip, two side pockets
- Unisex cut, S to 4XL, in black or navy

A heated vest without a battery is simply a vest
On a lot of listings the battery is not part of the deal, so the vest arrives and stays cold until you have bought one. The Ridge ships with its own: 5,000 mAh, slim enough to disappear into the inner pocket, with a charge level display.
Straight away that is eight hours on the low setting. Two ports on the battery mean your phone can borrow some of it while you are out.
- Power bank in the box5,000 mAh, included in the price — nothing to order afterwards.
- Charges your phone tooTwo ports — the battery is good for more than the vest.
Heating zones
Heat leaves through your neck and the small of your back
Nine panels cover exactly those areas: the neck, both shoulder blades, upper and lower back, the kidney region, and the chest on the left and the right. They share a single heating circuit, which means none of them lags behind.
A vest with three panels across the back skips the places that matter most. That usually becomes obvious somewhere out on the trail, not in the shop.
- Nine panels, one circuitNeck, shoulder blades, upper and lower back, kidneys, left and right chest.
- Three levelsOne button on the chest, easy to find with gloves on.
Run time
Eight hours on level one — enough for a full day in the cold
Level one lasts eight hours, level two four, full power two. The numbers were taken outdoors at 23 °F (−5 °C) with the vest under a softshell jacket, rather than on a bench at room temperature.
In practice, full power earns its keep during the first few minutes in the cold; after that a lower level does the job and the charge sees the day out. For anything longer, any USB power bank plugs straight in — a spare in your pocket doubles the day.
- Eight hours on level oneFour on level two, two at full power.
- Warm in secondsThe heating fibres need no warm-up time.
Frequently asked questions
-
It comes with it. A 5,000 mAh power bank sits in the box at no extra cost, so the vest heats the first time you put it on. Any standard USB power bank rated 5 V / 2 A works just as well — take a larger one along for long days outdoors.
-
The included power bank gives you eight hours on level one, four on level two and two at full power. We measured that at 23 °F (−5 °C) with the vest under a softshell jacket; harder frost brings the figures down. Carry a second power bank in your pocket and the time doubles.
-
Yes. Take the power bank out first and unplug the USB cable, then wash the vest by hand or on a gentle cycle at 86 °F (30 °C). Keep it out of the dryer and lay it flat to dry.
-
The vest fits true to size. If a thick sweater is going underneath, take one size up. The range runs from S to 4XL in a unisex cut.
-
Women and men alike. It gets worn for fishing and hunting, winter sports, motorcycling, outdoor work and dog walks — and by anyone who feels the cold sooner than the people around them.
